Product Review: Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System Hair Masque!

Hey Curlies! ❤

Y’all know I had to come and make a blog post reviewing Shea Moisture’s Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System. Now, I’m all about a good masque. It’s vital to incorporate masques and deep treatments and so forth into our natural hair regimen simply because natural hair requires SO much moisture.

So with that being said, lets get to it!

My opinion:

Now, I try to keep it REAL because I can’t stand a review that just wants to please the company. I don’t want to steer anyone wrong because that’s money and time wasted. But, for those that know me, know that I love Shea Moisture. I love their line and their products for the most part. I love the quality and the ingredients. They’re child friendly, so I’m able to use them on my child as well which I LOVE. I was looking for a deep conditioner and stumbled across this during the BOGO deal at Walgreens. I saw the pink and was immediately happy that there was a new line out! I grabbed that sucker, paid and was out the doe.

If you haven’t seen this on IG then you won’t get the joke. Lol. Nevermind…carrying on…

The smell:

OOOO EMMM GEEEE! One word. YAAAAS! Lol

– It smells like perfume! The smell is SOOO amazing. If you don’t like strong scents, then you might not like this, however the smell dissipates.

The consistency:

– It’s creamy and somewhat thick. I’ve used thicker consistencies, but it’s the perfect consistency.

Does it live up to it’s promises?

– Again it says…

“This intensive antioxidant-rich treatment helps to perfect and renew vibrancy to brittle, lackluster hair. When used weekly in our 10-IN-1 RENEWAL SYSTEM, it treats damaged hair while providing anti-aging benefits, color protection, hydration, nourishment, rejuvenation, strength, anti-stress, deep conditioning, softness and shine. Basically…

– My hair shows signs of nourishment, rejuvenation, softness and shine! I am not sure about color protection, but if it’s giving me color protection that’s even better because I do have colored treated hair. You only need to keep it on for 5 minutes so it’s perfect for those quick shower days when you need to shave and do all your business, you can pop this sucker on with a shower cap before hand, handle your business, sing like I do lol and you’re done! However, I ALWAYS keep it on for at least 30 minutes.

Would I purchase again?

– ABSOLUTELY!

Have you tried Superfruit 10-n-1? What were your thoughts? Let me know!

Until next time curlies! XO!

Love,

Product Review: Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Line!

(Waves!) Hey Curlfriends!

JBCO-Group1-1024x681

The Shea Moisture line is absolutely incredible! They  recently came out with a Jamaican Black Castor Oil line or JBCO. Not that the original line wasn’t everything already, the JBCO line is also quite amazing. JBCO is awesome for the hair (and has other uses) here’s a few facts: JBCO is known to increase hair growth and thicken the hair, repair dry and or damaged hair, softening and conditioning for the hair, treats dry and itchy scalp and increases blood flow to the scalp.

This new line includes:

  • Shampoo
  • Leave In Conditioner
  • Edge Treatment
  • Styling Lotion
  • Hair Masque
  • Hair Serum

jbco

So, let’s get to the product review! Unfortunately, I have not purchased all of these products therefore will only be reviewing the Leave In Conditioner and Edge Treatment. The Jamaican Black Castor Oil Leave In Conditioner (16oz, $12.99)  is light weight in my opinion which is GREAT for a leave in. I prefer light weight leave in’s because I plan to apply more products after applying my leave in. Therefore, I don’t want my leave in to weigh my hair down before any styling. Leave in conditioners are excellent for added moisture and to help with protecting and keeping the hair soft and frizz free. It’s all about preference ladies; whatever suits you and your hair. If you have thick hair leave in’s are great as they help with tangles and frizz. If you have fine hair, it’s up to you to decide if a leave in will work for your hair. I suggest a light watery leave in that won’t weigh your hair down like a light spray. As long as it’s a moisturizing leave in it is beneficial to your hair. It’s awesome that my daughter and I have 2 different yet similar textures. I have a range of 3a-3c hair types while my daughter has a 3c to 4a hair type. Fortunately, this Leave In works GREAT on both of our hair! My hair is moisturized and feels soft and manageable! I’d definitely recommend to all naturals!

jbcoedgeOK! Now on to the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Edge Treatment Edge Treatment (4oz $12.99)! I love this stuff. The FIRST ingredient is glycerin (a humectant which is commonly added to leave in conditioners). Some naturals dislike glycerin for their hair so this product may be a no go if that is the case for you. Remember the first THREE ingredients in a product is what the product mostly consists of. Water is the second ingredient which is always good. This right there tells you that this product is very moisturizing! I mainly use this product on my 6 year old daughter. My daughter has fine curly and kinky hair. Her edges are thin, so I’m all about strengthening and thickening her soft edges. When I saw this product I immediately purchased in hopes to incorporate this product into her routine. I also love it on myself, as it makes my edges very soft and moisturized! The consistency isn’t easy to apply, BUT the ingredients and promises of this product make it worth it. It slicks my daughters edges and conditions them? WIN! A couple cons: it’s a tad oily due to the glycerin and does not slick MY edges down how I would like them. However, like I mentioned above it gives a slick appearance to my daughter’s edges which is a win for me. It’s VERY helpful to apply it with a toothbrush!

Product Review on Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Masque!

macadamia-hair-mask

Ring the alarm, I have a product review!!!

  • Combines Macadamia & Argan oils with Tea tree oil, chamomile oil, aloe and algae extract
  • Deep nourishment & long-lasting conditioning
  • Ultra-conditioning hair reconstruction
  • 8.5 oz

Hey Curlfriends! So! Y’all. (Deep Sigh). This stuff right here?! (Closes Eyes). AMAZING.

Yes, I’m dramatic! Lol. No but all jokes aside, Macadamia Oil Deep Repair Masque is an amazing and moisturizing product that I would recommend to anyone with any hair type. It’s just THAT good. It’s a tad on the pricey side, so I found a pack of this stuff first before I decided to fork over a good $36.00 for it. Yes ya’ll, close to 40 bucks, I needed to find out if it was worth it because let’s be honest who really wants to pay that much for a hair product?! I did my research like I always do when it comes to products I’ve heard about before buying. It’s important to check out all the ingredients to make sure that the label promises add up. Not every product that claims to be moisturizing it moisturizing. Just like every product claiming to help you lose weight is going to help you lose weight. After purchasing the pack I tried it on freshly washed and detangled hair. I chose to apply it in sections then combing through each section of hair which helps to get the product distributed evenly. I then twisted each section and placed all my hair in a plastic shower cap, then wrapping it up with a scarf to ensure the heat from my scalp conditioned my strands. I followed the directions and then rinsed with cold water. Rinsing with cold water ensures that frizz will be tamed AND the moisture is then locked in! And let me tell you, once I rinsed this bad boy out I promise you a little bit of Jesus was left on my hair, LOL. My hair was EXTREMELY moisturized and shiny. I was highly impressed. So, ladies PLEASE if you are looking for a good deep mask THIS ladies is IT. Yes the price isn’t too pretty, but your hair will be pretty and it’s WORTH it.
